BRIAN PEAD MAKES APPLICATION FOR STAY IN CROWN COURT CASE
On the 30th anniversary of Hillsborough, Liverpool FC author Brian Pead made a written application to Norwich Crown Court for a stay in the proceedings brought against him by the Police, who claimed that he had breached a Sexual Offences Prevention Order or SOPO. Brian has never signed the Sex Offenders Register (not being a sex offender) and in any event, the SOPO expired in 2015. The Police claim it is still active so that they can bully him, enter his flat without a warrant and search it unlawfully. They are using the SOPO in order to control him. He is currently under house arrest in King’s Lynn.
Brian has argued that the original conviction at Southwark in 2009 for the alleged attempted incitement of a non-existent 14-year-old girl is unsafe and unlawful (a view corroborated by his MP and former barrister, Sir Henry Bellingham) is currently under Appeal and therefore any proceedings in that matter would be an abuse of the court’s process.
The decision of the Norwich Crown Court will be uploaded as soon as it is made known.
Brian can be contacted on 07508 242 101 (when the Police allow calls to go through – it’s very hit and miss, so please be patient). He welcomes visits to Flat 2, 66 Goodwins Road, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, PE30 5PD.
